Baked Rosemary Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

Sweet Potato Fries

Chips are my weakness, just as I'm sure they are many other vegan's weakness.

In fact, when people say "oh wow! You're vegan? You must be so healthy", the reason why we smirk is probably because, almost instantaneously, fries came to mind.

I can't help you with this, this weakness is just something we are gonna have to live with together. However, I did come up with this recipe for you to try. We're effectively swapping out the potato for sweet potato so it sounds a little healthier and we can feel slightly better about stuffing our faces with them.

Total Time: 1H 10M


  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • A few good sprigs of rosemary
  • 2tbsp cornflour
  • 1tbsp oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste


  • STEP 1: Peel your sweet potatoes and cut them into fries, then leave to soak in a bowl of cold water for one hour.

  • STEP 2: Drain your sweet potato and pat dry. In a bowl toss your fries in the cornflour, then add the paprika, garlic, oil and pepper.

  • STEP 3: Toss your sweet potato fries in your oil mix, and then lay out on a tray, top with your rosemary and bake at 210c for 15 minutes, then turn over and bake for another 10 minutes. Salt to taste and serve!

Don't feel bad

We really like this recipe, it goes great with so many different meals so we try not to feel bad about the health aspect of living off of fries and instead try to balance it out with salads and healthy things...

Who are we kidding? We're going to chase our next batch of fries down with some cake or nice cream!
